Welcome to our website! We are excited that you've taken the time to learn more about our Chapter. Founded in 1834, Delta Upsilon has always aimed to be "not your average fraternity." From the beginning, Delta Upsilon has prided itself on it's non-secrecy and accepting of all different types of men. Our uniqueness is what has allowed Delta Upsilon to thrive for almost two hundred years.
Our Chapter here at Michigan Tech has thrived for over forty years. Since our Chapter began, we have welcomed over four hundred brothers into our brotherhood and made countless lifelong friendships. The meaning of brotherhood is different to all. To some it is hiking and exploring the Keweenaw and taking advantage of all the community has to offer. To others it may be support in classes and a way to get involved on campus. Some may see it as someone to laugh with or a shoulder to lean on when times are hard. And for all of us, it is helping dig each others cars out after a blizzard.
As members of a great community, we are always happy to give our time to those who need it. Our brothers take part in many events such ad MDOT's Adopt-a-Highway program and maintaining the ice rink at the local West Edwards City Park. You will also find us at many events on campus, such as helping run blood drives and performing as ushers in the Rosza Center. We believe that helping our community not only makes it a better place for all, but is the best way to live to our mission statement of:
BUILDING BETTER MEN
OUR FOUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLES
PROMOTION OF FRIENDSHIP

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND CHAIR POSITIONS
The President is our leader, our top duck. He keeps order in the Chapter and runs all of our meetings. In addition to that, he leads all of our rituals and is also the public face of our Fraternity.
VP - EXTERNAL RELATIONS
VP-External Relations is our key to outside communication. He keeps parents, alumni, and the community up-to-date with our affairs with newsletters and plans all community gatherings. He also runs our social media, making sure we are visible at the click of a button.
VP - ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
We find academics so important, we have a position dedicated to it! VP-Academic Excellence coaches our academic performance and provides study plans for each of us.
The rituals of Delta Upsilon are events sacred to the Fraternity and are what unite all brothers. Our rituals are honored and protected with the help of our Ritual Coordinator, who makes sure all rituals run smoothly and as planned.
With twenty-or-so brothers going in and out of one house, things are bound to get hectic. To prevent that, we have our House Manager. He makes sure that the house is cleaned and livable for all us.
Raising money for philanthropy is one of our passions! With the careful planning of our Philanthropy Chair, we are able to raise over $1,000 every year for the Global Service Initiative!
VP - RISK MANAGEMENT
Safety is important, which is VP-Risk Management's role. He makes sure all safety codes are followed in the Chapter house and settles internal conflict through the Standard Committee.
VP - RECRUITMENT
VP-Recruitment assures our growth. He is responsible for planning recruitment events, allowing us to recruit new men. If you're looking to join, you'll certainly meet him fast!
VP - ADMINISTRATION
Our VP-Administration manages all the background operations that allow our Chapter to run. He keeps records of Chapter meetings and communicates with IHQ. Without him, we'd have no organization.
A big part of Greek Life is getting to meet fellow Greeks! Our Social Coordinator helps us stay connected with the Greek Community by planning socials with the other fraternities and sororities.
SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR
Jason St. James
Winter Carnival, Homecoming, and Greek Week oh my! There is a lot of planning that go into these events, but that is why we have our Special Events Coordinator. He plans our success in each event.
Our Historian does exactly what it sounds like: keeps records of all our history! He can be seen taking photos at all our events. He also keeps record of every brother in our Chapter since 1980.
VP - MEMBERSHIP EDUCATION
There's a lot to learn when joining a Fraternity. There's history, operations, and more. But luckily we have our VP-Membership Education to teach all our new members all they need to know. He also ensures all brothers know everything they need to be a successful brother!
VP - FINANCE
Jason St. James
All money goes through our VP-Finance. He creates our budget from year-to-year and makes sure we are following it. He also collects expenses from brothers and guarantees bills are paid.
BROTHERHOOD AND WELLNESS COORDINATOR
Brotherhood is one of the reasons we all joined a Fraternity! Our Brotherhood and Wellness Coordinator plans all our brotherhood events, keeping us a close knit group! He also ensures we are staying healthy and fit.
INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE
All twelve fraternities fall under the Interfraternity Council. Our IFC Representative attends their meetings and relays that information to us. He also makes sure our Chapter's voice is heard.
Volunteering is a large part of what do! Our Service Chair seeks out many different opportunities for us. Because of his hard work, each brother usually has over thirty hours of volunteering every school year!
There are over 400 alumni from our Chapter! Our Alumni Relations keeps all of them connected with the Chapter. He plans gatherings and reunions for all our alumni to attend.
