One of the most important functions of our fraternity is community service, both locally and internationally. We believe that caring for our communities improves not only the community but also ourselves.
Locally, we support many projects to help keep the Keweenaw beautiful. We participate in MDOT's Adopt-A-Highway, picking up trash along US 41 two times a year. We maintain West Edwards City Park by raking leaves, picking up litter and removing snow from the ice rink. Every year during Make A Difference Day, we rake leaves in local parks, help with outdoor building projects and various other projects throughout Houghton. We also participate in and help run many local charities in such as Little Brothers of the Elderly.
Our largest project is the Global Service Initiative, something all chapters participate in. All money any chapter raises throughout the year goes towards this cause. Three times a year, brothers participate in a one-week trip to Jamaica where they build and remodel homes for those in need, improve local schools and do other service projects for the communities.
